After a brief but painful illness, my dog was put to sleep on August 21st.
Buzz was only four and is dearly missed.
I've been doing alright, mostly due to my amazing friends who have kept me busy all week. I can't imagine life without pets, I've rarely been without one, but some parts are really hard.

I'm so, so sorry. I know how incredibly hard it is and so quiet around the house. They really leave a hole in your heart. I'm sure your buddy had the best life he could possibly have and you gave that to him.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. I know it is so hard.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry...I have been there and it's a very hard loss to deal with.

ReplyDeleteso sorry: it's one of the hardest things in the world. hope you can find some peace in the enveloping love of family & friends.
ReplyDeleteOh, Rossie, I am so sorry! I am glad that you have people there who know what it means to lose an animal, though, and are keeping you busy. HUG.

ReplyDeleteHere's hoping that your heart will heal with time. And that you'll frame that photo of you and him. It's a keeper.
So sorry to hear that! I too am very attached to my pets. Hope you feel better soon! Sending hugs :)
ReplyDeleteDistressing isn't it - I must admit having gone through the same with with our older GSD a few years ago - I'm NOT looking forward to loosing his brother (who comes to work with me every day) in the near future - I know it's coming but still ....... ;-(
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you...they are such pure beings...a lovely pic. Remember THESE days, not the difficult ones.
ReplyDeleteI'm so very sorry. I know your pain.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear your sad news. Someone once said "No good dog ever lives long enough" and that is so true. When we have them for less than their usual amount of time, which is already too short, we feel especially cheated.
ReplyDeleteMy experience of many years and a series of many dogs is that over time the pain of loss is balanced and surpassed by the immense joy we had by knowing them and having them in our lives.
I find that giving a new fur baby a home is very healing. But of course that's a very personal decision.
I wish you the very best.
