you're invited!
I've been invited to give a lecture on modern quilting on August 15, 2010 in Northville, Michigan.
I've accepted this invitation because I have an ever increasing pile of ideas about mutant quilting and I relish the opportunity to organize them, find visual illustrations for them, and engage in conversation about them.
I'm bringing my brain, my quilts, and an image-filled slide presentation.
If you'd like to attend, please reserve your spot because space is limited
RSVP to Lynn at FibraArtysta@earthlink.net
Many thanks to Running With Scissors for inviting me! (offiicial announcement is on their blog)

ya know, I'd give anything to buy a t-shirt that states " I am a Mutant Quilter" ! too kewl on the lecture !
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I'll be out of town that weekend. Maybe you'll share some tidbits on the blog :).
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a ton of fun!
ReplyDeleteOh I'd love to be there but it's a bit far from home (England!) for me to attend, how about posting your lecture and slides on your blog, there must be loads of people who would appreciate it...
ReplyDeleteOops, I should have said CONGRATULATIONS on being asked!!
ReplyDeleteOOOH I agree with Barbara here, someone want to make some shirts that say "I'm a mutant quilter!" Please??? Maybe I'll do some up on zazzle and see how that goes. Wonderfullness!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go, but it's waaay too far away for me. How about you come talk for our chicago modern quilt guild sometime?
I just made you a mutant quilter shirt - or an idea for one.

I linked your mutant quilting post in the discription.
I thought it would be great with an image of a sewing machine in the background... but I couldn't find any free ones that zazzle would let me make large enough. I was thinking of adding the process pledge image on the sleve? or is that too much? Didn't want to do that without permission. Enjoy!
emedoodle -- those shirts are hilarious!
ReplyDeleteoh man, I'm so not a t-shirt wearer, though.
can zazzle do tote bags? If the "t" were changed so it didn't look like a crucifix and there were a tote bag, I'd totally buy one of those!
best to leave the process pledge seperate, I think.
About posting the lecture and slides on the blog:
ReplyDeleteI will see what I can do. Because I consider the lecture educational, I've put many images to which I don't have copyrights in the slide show (fair use!)
However, I feel like if I put them on the blog, I'd need to get permission for each person I borrowed from. Which I'm willing to ask for, but there are no guarantees of results. I can always post the show with some blanks in it.
We'll see!
A bit far to come from Sydney Australia :), but I wish good luck. I like the idea of mutant quilting.
ReplyDeleteMakes me wish I still lived in Bay City :( Hope you have some posts for us.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to hear that you might be posting your lecture on the blog. That would be amazing. I wonder, could a book be in order???
ReplyDeletedarn, i would love to attend, but i think 5.5 hrs is a bit much to drive twice in a day. will you be doing anything closer to chicago in the near future? i would love to come see you
ReplyDeleteWhat fun.. love the mutant quilting... will you be able to share some here at your blog?
